Dr. Drago Albijanić is a distinguished expert in pediatric surgery and the founder of pediatric urology in Montenegro, with extensive experience in performing complex surgical procedures and advancing medical practices.

Education

  • Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade in 1977.
  • Completed a specialization in pediatric surgery in 1985.
  • Subspecialized in pediatric urology, earning certification in 2002 at the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Medicine.
  • Widely recognized as the founder of pediatric urology in Montenegro.

Professional experience

  • Worked at the Institute for Health Care of Mother and Child in Belgrade from 1997 to 1999.
  • At the Clinic for Pediatric Surgery at the Institute for Children’s Diseases, within the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) in Podgorica, he introduced several surgical procedures previously not performed in Montenegro, refining and enhancing numerous operative techniques.
  • He has performed over 15 000 surgeries under general anesthesia in pediatric surgery, traumatology, and urology.

Academic contributions and mentorship

  • Published more than 40 scientific publications in national and international journals and presented at conferences.
  • Participated in numerous educational workshops across the region and Europe, including Vienna, London, Birmingham, Rome, Budapest, and Bucharest.
