Milmedika

Marija Varajić is a psychologist and systemic family psychotherapist in training, with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has also pursued significant professional development in the field of social and child protection.

Education

• Graduated with a degree in psychology from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Montenegro in Nikšić.
• Earned a master’s degree in psychology from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Montenegro in Nikšić.
• Completed a specialization in psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Montenegro.
• Passed the professional exam in the field of social and child protection.
• Obtained a license for professional work in social and child protection from the Institute for Social and Child Protection of Montenegro.

Training

• Completed a four-year training program in systemic family psychotherapy.
• Received a certificate qualifying her for both European and national psychotherapy certification.
• Holds the title of systemic family psychotherapy counselor, accredited by the European Institute for Psychotherapy Education.
• Completed educational and practical training in social and child protection (NGO "Susreti," Nikšić).
• Attended the Life Skills School for working with children with developmental disabilities (NGO "Susreti," Nikšić).
• Enhanced her skills in motivational interviewing for professionals (NGO "Juventas").
• Completed an accredited program on early recognition of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease symptoms (NGO "Futura").
• Attended training on the risks of gambling among youth (Prof. Dr. Neven Ricijaš, UNICEF Montenegro).
• Completed training on adolescent self-harm: assessment and counseling (Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb, led by Prof. Dr. Neven Ricijaš).
• Participated in the roundtable “Child-Friendly Justice” (Institute for Social and Child Protection).

Marija actively contributes to the development of her profession through membership in the Association of Psychologists of Montenegro and regular participation in trainings, seminars, and professional gatherings at both local and regional levels.
