Milmedika

Dr. Sonja Milašinović, pediatric surgery and pediatric orthopedics specialist, has extensive experience in clinical practice, education, and research. She specializes in the surgical treatment of pediatric orthopedic conditions, with a particular focus on developmental hip disorders and pediatric emergency surgery.

Education

• She earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sarajevo, in 1992.
• Completed her specialization in pediatric surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, in 2003.
• She obtained a master's degree in pediatric orthopedics in 2005 and completed a subspecialization in the same field in 2013.
• Defended her doctoral dissertation on genetic predisposition in developmental hip disorders in 2019.

Professional experience

• She began her medical career at the Primary Health Care Center in Podgorica before joining the Institute for Children’s Diseases at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, where she has held various medical and leadership roles since 1997.
• In 2018, she was appointed Head of the Pediatric Surgery Clinic.
• She currently works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montenegro, where she teaches Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Sports Medicine and Hygiene. She is engaged both at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica and the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education in Nikšić.

Additional training

• She has expanded her expertise at leading medical institutions across Europe, including the University Cantonal Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland, and specialized centers in Austria.
• She has participated in numerous international training programs and symposiums in pediatric orthopedics and surgery.

• Dr. Milašinović is the author and co-author of numerous scientific and professional papers, including the monograph "A Contribution to the Modern Treatment of Developmental Hip Disorders."
