Prof. Dr. Predrag Stevanović is one of the region’s leading experts in anesthesiology, intensive care medicine, and pain medicine, with exceptional clinical, academic, and international experience.

He is a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, and Head of the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the University Clinical Hospital Center “Dr. Dragiša Mišović – Dedinje” in Belgrade. Throughout his career, he has held a number of highly responsible professional, academic, and leadership positions, including Director of the University Clinical Hospital Center Bežanijska Kosa, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, and founder and head of the Simulation Center of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

A particularly important part of his work is dedicated to pain medicine, a field in which Prof. Dr. Stevanović is recognized as one of the pioneers of academic and clinical development in the region. He is the founder of the new subspecialization in pain medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, and one of the key experts who helped develop a modern, multidisciplinary approach to treating acute and chronic pain.

He completed professional training at prestigious international centers, including the MGH Pain Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, King’s College Hospital in London, as well as specialized training in pain medicine, palliative medicine, and interventional procedures in Florence, Lyon, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Rijeka, Amsterdam, Nantes, and Poitiers.

In the field of pain therapy, he performs modern interventional procedures, including fluoroscopy- and ultrasound-guided epidural blocks, joint and nerve blocks, epidurolysis, percutaneous epidural neuroplasty, radiofrequency procedures, pulsed radiofrequency ablation, and neuromodulation procedures, including spinal cord stimulation.

Prof. Dr. Stevanović is the author and coordinator of international projects in pain medicine, palliative medicine, and medical education. He has participated in numerous national and international scientific research studies, has been an invited lecturer in the region and abroad, and is the author, co-author, and editor of many scientific papers, textbooks, and book chapters in anesthesiology, intensive care medicine, and pain therapy.

His work combines advanced clinical practice, academic expertise, and modern medical technologies, with a special focus on patients whose pain significantly affects their daily functioning, mobility, and quality of life.
