Milmedika

Dr. Aleksandar Filipović is a specialist in general and endocrine surgery with decades of experience in clinical practice and teaching. He currently leads the endocrine surgery department at the Surgical Clinic in Podgorica and serves as a teaching associate for the Surgery course at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica.

Education

• Completed his specialization in general surgery at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade (1994–1999).
• In 2003, he pursued advanced training in endocrine surgery at the Center for Endocrine Surgery, University Clinical Centre of Serbia as well as in the Rechts der Isar Hospital in Munich and the University Surgical Clinic in Pisa.
• In September 2006, he completed a course in video endoscopic endocrine surgery at the Agostino Gemelli University Polyclinic in Rome.

Professional engagements

• Acts as the president of the organizing committee for the annual Thyroid Symposium in Montenegro.
• Presented his work at numerous national and international surgical conferences and published articles in both local and international journals.
• Was a member of the organizing committee for the International Congress of University Surgeons in Pescara (2005), the annual congress of the Italian Society of Endocrine Surgery (2006), and the review committee for the same society (2007).

• President of the Association of Surgeons of Montenegro.
• Member of the Society of Endocrine Surgeons of Serbia and Montenegro.
• Corresponding member of the Italian Society of Endocrine Surgery.
• Member of the International Society of Surgery (ISS).
