Recommended time for sample collection

For the most accurate results, some tests need to be done at specific times of the day.

Morning blood tests (8:00 – 10:00 AM)

  • Fasting glucose
  • Lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides – fasting required)
  • Vitamin B12
  • Folic acid
  • OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test)
  • PTH (parathyroid hormone)
  • Iron levels
  • Cortisol (First measurement around 8:00 AM, second measurement around 4:00 PM)

Urine and stool samples

  • Urine culture – midstream sample from the first morning urine
  • Stool analysis – for bacteriological, virological, or parasitological testing

Hormone tests based on the menstrual cycle

Sex hormones (FSH, LH, estradiol, progesterone, prolactin)

  • Between days 3–5 of the cycle OR
  • Between days 21–23, depending on your doctor's recommendation

Anticoagulant therapy (blood thinners)

PT (INR) test – If you take oral anticoagulants, it's best to wait 12 hours after your last dose before the blood test to get the most accurate results.

Preparing for your test

Lipid profile (cholesterol & triglycerides)

To get precise results:

  • 24 hours before – Avoid alcohol and strenuous physical activity.
  • 12 hours before – No food or drinks (except water).

OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test)

This test lasts 2 hours and helps evaluate how your body processes glucose.

  • 3 days before – Keep your usual diet without any changes.
  • The day before (24 hours prior) – Avoid intense physical activity.
  • 12 hours before – No food or drink (only water allowed).

Test procedure

  1. A fasting blood sample is taken.
  2. You will drink a glucose solution.
  3. Blood samples are taken after 60 minutes and after 120 minutes.

During the test, you must remain seated and avoid eating, drinking (except water), or smoking.

Collecting samples correctly

Urine sample collection

  • Use a sterile container (available at pharmacies or in our laboratory).
  • Collect a midstream sample from the first morning urine.
  • Bring the sample to the laboratory within two hours.
  • Urine samples should not be collected during menstruation.

24-hour urine collection

  • Collect all urine over 24 hours in a clean plastic bottle (1.5–2L).
  • Discard the first morning urine, then collect all urine throughout the day, including the first morning urine the next day.
  • Keep the bottle sealed in a cool, dark place.

Prenatal screening tests

We offer screening tests during pregnancy to assess the risk of genetic conditions:

  • Double test – Performed between weeks 12 and 14.
  • Triple test – Performed between weeks 16 and 18.

For these tests, please bring your latest ultrasound report and know your exact weight.

Home visit service – sample collection at your location

For patients who are unable to visit the laboratory, we offer a home sample collection service. Our medical staff will come to your location for blood draws or other required tests.

How to schedule a home visit?

  • Appointments must be scheduled at least one day in advance.
  • Patients must follow all preparation guidelines before sample collection.
